The specific objectives of the project are : * Improve the productivity of dairy farms ; * Boost the milk and dairy products value chain by structuring the collection and processing of milk from targeted farms ; * Promote the consumption of milk and dairy products through nutritional education of groups at risk of nutritional vulnerability ; * Facilitate access to financing. 2-Components of the project The project has seven (07) components that are: (i) Improvement of the performance of dairy farms; (ii) Dynamization of the national value chain of milk and dairy products; (iii) Promotion of milk and dairy products consumption; (iv) Access to financing; (v) Coordination and management of the project, (vi) Emergency intervention (CERC) and Financial audit : Component-1. Improving the performance of dairy farms : This component aims to improve the productivity of the cows and the production of the farms in order to guarantee a consistent and sustainable supply (quality and quantity of milk) of the dairy. The objective of this component is to ensure the availability of infrastructure and production / processing equipment as well as inputs to increase the production and productivity of milk and dairy products. The activities falling under this component include: (i) the construction, equipment and commissioning of the High-performance Cattle Breeding Unit (UMBP), the rehabilitation of the KOMKI IPALA breeding station, the construction of three breeding stations, the development and equipment of irrigated forage plots and a grazing area, the acquisition of artificial insemination kits (30,000 doses and 20 kits), the acquisition of food supplements and exotic breed animals; (ii) the promotion of artificial insemination in livestock farms, the improvement of access to zootechnical and veterinary inputs and technologies for the production of inputs and reproduction by the constitution of working capital in the form of buffer stocks in the Milk Collection Centers (CCL).
